Life is fragile

Hola Familia Como estan?
I'm glad to hear that everything went well with the funeral, I feel honored to be one of the honorary Pallbearers. This week has been pretty good for us we still have two bap dates Jenny, and Bernavera. They both were miracles for us because we were having the hardest time finding people who were elect and ready to receive the message and the invitation to baptism. So Jenny is a 16 year old girl from El Salvador who is progressing amazingly she had read the introduction and the pamphlet by the time we went back to teach her again. Bernavera was a humble man with a small family who had already been to church but never met with the missionaries. We talked to him and he was super ready to receive the message he accepted a baptismal date and we are trying to meet with him again this week. The only reason we were able to find them though was because of the support and guidance God gave us.
Since I've been out here I've noticed that life is a fragile things especially in many of the places that we are in. Places known as the ghetto or projects which are super poor and poverty ridden. Many of the kids we teach that live in there don't know if their parents or family members will come home alive due to gang activity, drugs, alcohol, and other things. But the fact that when we tell them there is life after this death and they can see their loved ones again brings so much joy into their lives. You can see it physically and feel it spiritually. We have taught people who don't have a belief in God and it still brings them peace hearing these things. But something I have gained is more of an eternal perspective. When you see life with more than just the here and now and you look beyond you can focus on the things that matter most to God in this life and therefore to us ( I think that was a quote from a general authority but I'm claiming that one).
The work is improving everyday me and Elder Nelson are working real hard to find and set baptismal dates and we have a fun time working together. We got 4 investigators at church this week also!!! Danya, Yadira, Araceli, and one of their friends. They said that it was something different than what they were used to but they liked it. As of right now that's what we are struggling with the most and we are trying super hard to get investigators there every week but then they just give us the shaft every week. So we are still praying for and hoping that we can get more investigators at church. But other than that everything is going good transfers are coming up this next week and we know for sure that one of us is going to go. I hope everyone has a good week I love you all mucho. Les Amo muchisimo espero que peuden seguir adelante. Con amor
Elder Gibbons
